I'm Sophie and I have been a qualified Modern Foreign Languages teacher since 2020. I have years of experience in the classroom and decided in 2025 to run my business full-time. I offer French and Spanish lessons for all ages, from infant school age to adults, online. Lessons are tailored to your goals and level, whether that’s playful sessions for young children, KS3, GCSE and A-Level support for students, or conversation, travel, and professional language skills for adults. 1:1 and small group options are available to suit your requirements.

My French lessons are designed to make learning approachable, practical, and fun. Whether you’re a complete beginner, a student preparing for GCSE or A-level, or an adult wanting to improve conversation skills, lessons are tailored to your goals. Lessons combine practical communication with cultural immersion. You will develop fluency through listening, conversation and engaging topics that reflect your interests.

Infant & Primary
A playful start to language learning
Through games and competition, explicitly taught phonics and repetition, children will absorb sounds and structures naturally, boosting cognitive development and improving memory.

How did Languages with Sophie start?
I always knew from secondary school age that I wanted to work in a field using languages. Fast forward 17 years and I am doing just that. 4 undergraduate years, one postgraduate year, a four year teaching job in a Bristol Secondary school and now founder of Languages with Sophie, I absolutely love what I do! The journey to get here has taught me so much; how to be an excellent teacher. Being able to make a difference to learners' confidence when speaking a language is truly rewarding and the most enjoyable part of my job. I am very fortunate to have worked with a range of people with all different goals, as I took my business to the next level last year.
